UPC-28/28C/28C-N

The Moving iMage Technologies Accessibility Systems known around the world as the “USL” hearing and visually impaired go-to system provides the most affordable way to include those that are hard of hearing or visually impaired to the enjoyment of the movies or any other communal event.

The backbone of the USL UPC-28 kit is the IRC- 28/28C/28C-N which transmits two channels of audio plus closed captioning data over infrared. Channel A is transmitted at 2.3MHz. Channel B is transmitted at 2.8MHz. Both carriers are frequency modulated. Channel A is normally used to carry the Hearing Impaired audio, while channel B is normally used to carry the Visually Impaired - Narrative audio.

The UPC-28C consists of the IRC-28C Emitter Panel, IRP-20 DC Power Pack, and Mounting Brackets. The IRC-28C is UL listed for compliance with IEC 60065 audio/video and similar electronic apparatus. UL file E307263.

Features:

  • Infra-red technology: eliminates adjacent room channel interference.
  • Three types of receivers: headphones, eyeglasses, or seat-mounted caption display.
  • Headphones play film soundtrack or audio descriptive narration.
  • Volume controls on headphones for overall level or to blend soundtrack and narration.
  • Headphones provide DC and AC magnetic fields for hearing aid telecoils.
  • 3.5 mm jack for neck loops or inputs on hearing aids and implants.

The Moving iMage Technologies IRH-280i/281i are two-channel infrared (IR) Headphones for HI (Hearing Impaired)  and VI-N (Visually Impaired Narrative) audio. The IRH-280i/281i headsets receive “Hearing Impaired” audio (dialog-centric audio at a user-adjustable loudness) and “Audio Description” audio (formerly Visually Impaired - Narrative description of the movie action to aid visually impaired individuals). The IRH-280i/281i are powered by two AAA batteries to receive infrared signals carrying the HI audio at 2.3 MHz and the AD signal at 2.8 MHz.

The IRH-280i/281i headsets receive “Hearing Impaired” audio (dialog-centric audio at a user-adjustable loudness) and “Audio Description” audio (formerly Visually Impaired –Narrative, a description of the movie action to aid visually impaired individuals) from the IRC panels over infrared to delivering high-quality sound to ensure maximum intelligibility for the hearing and visually impaired. If left on, and the headsets are not receiving a signal, the headsets will shut OFF after 5 minutes.

The IRH-280i headphones include a channel switch that allows the user to select to hear either the film soundtrack (HI) or descriptive narration (VI-N) through both earcups. The IRH-281i headphones have individual volume controls for each channel, allowing the user to mix HI and VI-N to both ears at the same time.

Features:

  • High-quality sound ensures maximum intelligibility.
  • Receives HI audio at 2.3 MHz and the AD signal at 2.8 MHz.
  • Powered by 2 AAA Batteries.
  • Includes 3.5mm jack to drive neck loops or direct audio inputs on hearing aids or /implants.
  • Provides DC and AC magnetic fields to drive automatic switching telecoils in hearing aids.

Available models: CCR-100, CCR-100C, CCR-100P, CCR-100S.

The Moving iMage Technologies Closed Captioning Receiver (CCR) is a DCI & SMPTE compliant Closed Caption Device that is attached to an angled flex arm with a base and built-in cupholder that fits into the cinema or theater seat cupholder armrest. For chairs that do not have a cupholder, the CCR-100-C utilizes a clamp in place of the cupholder. The CCR-100C and CCR0100S provide additional mountain options for locations without cupholders.

The CCR-100 seat arm mounted closed caption receiver provides the patron with a private display that is attached by an angled flex arm. The unique optics of the CCR-100 present a distant virtual image to the user so the caption and movie screen can be viewed without refocusing the eye, additionally, CCR-100 minimizes the display visibility to surrounding patrons.

Patrons may select one of up to four caption languages delivered with the movie. The unit displays the user-defined welcome message until the presentation starts. It then displays the closed captions delivered in the Digital Cinema Package (DCP). No interference! the use of infrared (IR) transmission eliminates interference from adjacent auditoriums or radio transmitters.

Features:

  • DCI and SMPTE compliant.
  • Choose one of up to four languages.
  • Minimizes non-user disruption.
  • No Interference from adjacent auditoriums or radio transmitters.
  • Works with any DCI or SMPTE compliant cinema server.
